Listening to my Itunes and this song played as I was ironing. The second verse stuck out. Thought I'd share:
If the source of my ambition is the treasure I obtain
If I measure my successes on a scale of earthly gain
If the focus of my vision is the status I attain
My accomplishments are worthless and my efforts are in vain
So I lay aside these trophies to pursue a higher crown
Should You choose somehow to use the life I willingly laydown
I surrender all the triumph for it's only by Your grace
I relinquish all the glory, I surrender all the praise...
-I Surrender All, sung by Clay Crosse
I am sooo learning to surrender all to Christ. It means so much more than the sinner's prayer; it truly is having Him cut from you what He wants removed so that you become the person He wants you to be. And even then, still going through the metamorphosis to His glory. (because we'll NEVER be perfect.)
